Ferozepur (Kumar): Ferozepur police have arrested two PESCO workers on a complaint by the jail authorities for providing mobile phones and drugs to a prisoner at the central jail in Ferozepur.
On the basis of information received from secret sources, a prisoner was searched by the jail staff at the central jail in Ferozepur and two mobile phones, a SIM card, and mobile batteries were recovered from him.
A case has been registered against PESCO workers Rajinder Singh, Sarabjit Singh, and prisoner Gopal Chand and his son by the Ferozepur City Police Station on a complaint lodged by the jail authorities.
The investigating officer of City Ferozepur police station said in his statement to the jail administration, prisoner Gopal Chand said that PESCO workers had delivered the mobile phones and drug to him.
He said that the police has registered a case against the three and necessary actions will be taken against them.
